Benzoin Resin

Benzoin is a resin, which is a sticky flammable organic substance, insoluble in water, exuded by some trees and other plants (notably fir and pine).  It comes from the bark of several species of trees natively growing in Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The resin is harvested as gum from the tree by making a small cut in the bark, and the tree “weeps” it out.

Benzoin has a thick, sticky consistency with an uplifting, warm scent that smells like vanilla. It is burned to clear negative energy, alleviate sadness and depression, boost mood, and attract prosperity. 

It is most traditionally used around the world to deter bad spirits, which makes perfect sense that it is in our Protection Spray.
